The dust has barely settled on Nídia’s recent LP Nídia é Má, Nídia é Fudida and she is already on to the next one. This eponymous EP is another set of propulsive club tracks from the Príncipe favourite. The grooves here operate in a space between techno, Kuduro and Batida, their unmovable kick drum pulses given extra impetus by polyrhythmic interplay between the higher percussion and tuned instruments. One can also detect influences from trance and warehouse techno on the B-side.
