Rising Leeds producer Chekov returns to Shanti Celeste and Gramrcy’s Peach Discs label for a set of varied and adventurous productions entitled Aerated. Chekov’s detailed, dubby brand of club production is heard on ‘Flote’ and ‘Swerl’ - the former is a whirring soundsystem techno joint that wouldn’t sound out of place on Livity Sound while ‘Swerl’s soupy neo-house sound recalls Jun Kamoda. The rest of Aerated pulls back, either offering dawn-chorus ambient tones on opener ‘Blanked Out’ or serving up the two slow-motion rhythm tracks which close the EP out.
