Beyond the pure ambient bliss of ‘Existential Celebration’, Shornstein flits between stillness and movement across Waking Hours, dousing the wonky desert techno beats of ‘Warmth in the Coldest Acre’ and ‘Fanfare for 7.83 Hz’ with ascendent synths, or otherwise finding pop sophistication in the lowkey electronica funk of ‘The People’.
