Koehler returns with a quick smattering of off-kilter house beat wizardry on his second release via the ESP Institute. Having stoked the flames of his arcane art over discs on Berceuse Heroique and Disk, the two tracks here flex a longform kind of magic, and a newfound interest in electro stompers with ‘Light Magic’ in particular. ‘The Grand Illusion’ too exercises unexplored atmospherics for the producer, with the density of a pseudo-ambient haze.
