With Prole Art Threat, the second LP for Planet Mu from his East Man project, Anthoney Hart (Basic Rhythm) once again soups-up first-wave grime, Eski and sublow sounds for an album that is retro and future-facing at the same time. The beats here chop and zing like early Wiley or Youngstar productions, but there is also a technoid element to these instrumentals which gives them a futuristic quality not dissimilar to Walton, Low End Activist and post-Drexciyan electro. Even the choice of MCs on Prole Art Threat looks both back and forward - the LP generally sticks to London voices but also includes bars from Brazilian upstart Fernando Kep.
