Metamatics’ 2000 LP Midnight Sun Pig gets a new vinyl pressing - complete with recreated artwork - via Hydrogen Dukebox. While Midnight Sun Pig is a cult-classic in IDM circles, the record does not contain much of the zany tones and chewed-up drum programming that many associate with the genre. Instead, what we have here are considered and welcoming mid-tempo jams which combine the weighty contemplation of deep house with the warm synth pads one hears in so much of the forward-thinking electronic composition from the time.
