Star Trap is a new archival collection from the celebrated post-minimalist composer Arnold Dreyblatt. The half-dozen entries here were all recorded by Dreyblatt and his Orchestra of Excited Strings throughout the 1990s. Initially the strange combination of junkyard tones can be discombobulating, but once you get over the initial shock there is thrilling motion to the music of Star Trap. Think Peter Zummo crossed with 23 Skidoo or The Lounge Lizards.
