Earth To Mickey, Edwards’ new ‘pop’ project, finds the producer turning out some of his signature throwback weirdo-beat productions for singer Mickey van Seenus. Brace & Bit’s title-track, a breathless piece of 80s-indebted electro-funk, is the hit. Subsequently ‘Factory Beats’ turns the ‘Brace & Bit’ sound inside-out before van Seenus and Edwards hit upon something altogether more mysterious and dreamy on almost Lynchian closer ‘Pleasure Comes And Pleasure Goes’.
