The second LP from Nullptr is one of the finest realizations of the Central Processing Unit aesthetic to date. As fans of the Sheffield label will doubtless be aware, this imprint has long specialised in electro and machine-funk of the very highest quality. Nullptr delivers in this regard again and again across Future World’s ten tracks. These tunes manage to be dancefloor-friendly and also tread with a light touch, their snapping drums and busy synthesizers skipping ever forwards. Add in a smattering of malfunctioning modular synths straight outta the Drexciya/Unit Moebius continuum and you have yourself a mightily fun forty-eight minutes.
