Debuting as the soundtrack to an eponymous installation piece by French artist Fanny Béguély in December 2019, composers Frédéric D. Oberland and Irena Z. Tomažin probe the mysteries of bygone times with Arba, Dâk Arba. The duo invoke dark magic across the release, conjuring enmeshing drones from a heavily processed hurdy-gurdy, drawn from aether by Tomažin’s striking vocal performance, liable to lumbering at one moment and chilling gasps of breath the next.
