DJ Boring steps out on Ninja Tune offshoot Technicolour with a thumping bit of tech-house in the form of Like Water. The title-track’s dubby low-end is pure Berlin, but intrigue is added by DJ Boring’s use of swirling psychedelic synth pads as well as a brash, almost trance-leaning lead-line. Presented as both a full-length version and a shorter edit on the digital release, the longer ‘Like Water’ comes backed by a trio of equally party-ready tools on the vinyl pressing - there’s a bit more of a jack to the grooves of ‘Another Day’ and ‘Seems Like Yesterday’, but by and large the other trio of tunes here don’t mess with Like Water’s formula.
