Shortly before Can’s Jaki Liebezeit passed away back in 2017 he recorded a pair of jams with Burnt Friedman. Both of those numbers, which make up the B-side of Friedman’s new record Eurydike, are pieces of music at once low-key and vibrant, their ripping atmospheres touching on minimal techno, glitchy electronics and fourth-world soundscapes (as well as, yes, a bit of Krautrock). The spirit of these tracks carry through to Friedman’s pair of collaborations with João Pais Filipe in Eurydike’s first half.
