Born Bad Records sought out the weird and wonderful of 1970s Mauritius and compiled their findings in the killer comp Moris Zekler: Fuzz & Soul From 70s Mauritius. Logically evolved from the protest music of slaves and their descendants, the musical miasma of Moris Zeklar sits sees dominating influences emitting from the West as well as India, lending the likes of Ti L’Afrique’s ‘Pop Soul Sega’ and ‘Jean-Claude’s ‘Machin Sex’ an infectiousness unheard in either individual context.
