A record decades in the making, former Mojave 3 pedal steel player and all-round multi-instrumentalist Raymond Richards unleashes his first solo LP proper. The Lost Art Of Wandering is a work strangely dislocated in time; shades of 2000s’ indie folk boom emerging in the ambling guitar of ‘Fossil, Oregon’, a Lynchian jazz lullaby in ‘Roslyn, Washington’, an Eno-esque suspension in ‘Astoria, Oregon’ (Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks is certainly an ancestor).
