The latest LP from The Soft Pink Truth, the solo project of Matmos’ Drew Daniel, is a typically singular set. Sonic styles change from one track to another, with clustered choral tracks giving way to gentle techno or some lovely, dreamy chamber pieces that come off like Sufjan Stevens. Nevertheless, an air of ethereal beauty persists even as the makeup of the music changes - yes, even throughout the almost Ligeti-esque microtonality of a track like ‘Go’.
