Leafar Legov has undergone something of an artistic metamorphosis prior to his full-length debut. A longtime member of the Giegling family, he’s wowed listeners with lowkey and languid house numbers, ambient club atmospheres and daringly remixed Nina Simone’s ‘Wild is the Wind’ back in 2017. Mirror is a cumulative LP of Legov’s continued renewal within electronica, a comprehensive work encompassing glossy instrumental hip-hop textures (‘Abbas’, ‘Mit Dir’), breathy swells of ambient chill (‘Sardegna’, ‘Fly’) and, naturally, beat-driven undertakings of singular sophistry (‘Hyyde’, ‘In Your Mirror’).
