Fontaines D.C.’s eagerly-awaited sophomore LP A Hero’s Death is a set of potent, poetic and stormy post-punk songs from the Dublin band. Fans of the righteous invective that drives so much of IDLES’ music will find plenty to sink their teeth into here, but A Hero’s Death also has a sense of doomy forecasting about it that links Fontaines D.C. to the likes of Protomartyr, black midi and Preoccupations.
