After collaborating on a tome for iDEAL Recordings back in 2018, avant-gardists Ben Vida (The Cairo Gang, Pillow) and Marina Rosenfeld unite once more for two side-long experiments in the form of new LP Vertice. The oblique, shifting, quasi-improvisational sound-art pieces here remind one of the gestural turns taken by labels like Slip and Sacred Tapes. There’s certainly some Stockhausen to the concrete vignettes that make up ‘Any Landscape’ and ‘Branches’.
