Zenker Brothers deliver a quartet of futuro-club slammers in the form of new EP Mad System. These are more of the kind of hybridised DJ tools that the pair have made their name on, but one also gets the sense that these tunes have been shot through with an extra dose of adrenaline. ‘Bengel Mode’ and ‘Chi Boost’ are particularly energised, their combination electro-techno beats lurching forward alongside grizzled 303s and some dub-indebted, Ilian Tape-style processing. ‘Shaketown’ and ‘Outside’ are a mite less urgent but no less thrilling, with focus on the latter shifted away from drums towards rushes of synthetic harmony. Supreme club tackle.
