Ilpo Väisänen (formerly of Pan Sonic) and Dirk Dresselhaus (also known as Schneider™) deliver their latest set of dark, swampy industrial drone-concrete. Utopien I follows in the vein of many other die ANGEL records by delivering gurgling, unsettled soundscapes not dissimilar to some of Prurient’s most foreboding work. Utopien I also sees die ANGEL reunited with Oren Ambarchi, whose burbling electric guitar sounds add a sense of primordial strangeness to ‘Cargo Cult’.
