Downwards Records is known for releasing some hard-as-nails techno, but with Ann Margaret Hogan’s Honeysuckle Burials the Birmingham imprint proves that it can get sentimental when it wants. This is an undeniably gorgeous set from the Lydia Lunch/Nick Cave collaborator, a collection of post-Romantic piano musings in the vein of Claude Debussy. Occasional found sounds set the scene of Honeysuckle Burials, an LP conceived in the Welsh countryside, even better.
