After a host of in-tandem extracurriculars with Dialect, Ex-Easter Island Head and Outfit, as well as a smattering of undocumented projects all along the Merseyside, Liverpool-based experimentalists Andrew P. M. Hunt and Benjamin D. Duvall debut their Land Trance project. First Seance allows unorthodox percussive elements to take precedence, as the duo utilise a studio-as-instrument approach to crafting bizarre and faintly mischievous electroacoustic oddities. The clipped vocal snippets of ‘Chilean Miners’ and ‘Transcript’ warp arrhythmically around an imagined beat grid, making First Seance seem like dream visitations being retold through sound, following their own kind of twisted logic.
