When you combine Wata Igarashi with Voiski, you get WAV. Both consummate techno producers in their own right, the link-up bears fruit on their new collaborative EP 9719. This is a quartet of driving, busy minimal techno tools that occasionally jumps ship into tech-house (see the dubbed-out closing number ‘Riff’ on this count). Certain tunes here hang back on the tempo while ‘Regex’ has an urgent beat that is further bolstered by a zippy modular synth lead.
