Rave Til Dawn. Believe me, Asquith, I’ll be doing just that the first chance I get. There will be few better soundtracks to a post-lockdown party than this four-track EP, a collection of hard-wired techno bangers which occasionally slide over into wistful revivalism - much like Asquith’s previous releases, in fact. ‘Down’ and ‘Crush’ go particularly hard, barrelling out the traps while the gritted programmed drums almost fall over each other with excitement. Rave TIl Dawn’s title-track goes similarly hard but also contains some psychedelic minor-chord loops, and this vibe is etherised further on junglist closer ‘LCD Steppin’’. All in all, Rave Til Dawn is a damn good time.
