“Simultaneously complex and elegantly simple”: those are the words Lawrence English uses to describe the work of pioneering music concrete composer Beatriz Ferreyra, and the descriptors ring eminently true across the two sides of Echos+. The first, composed originally in 1978, moves a single voice recording across a deep auditory field to haunting affect, while the other, composed almost three decades later, transforms clacking percussion into a vast mood piece.
