The title-track of John Tejada’s new EP Moving 909s is a prime piece of punchy tech-house. Anchored by the sturdy chug of the drum machine from which the record gets its title, Tejada layers up loping bass loops, fizzing synths and strange burbles that pass for keyboard stabs to create a meaty mid-set roller. Elsewhere on the record ‘Infinity Room’ finds Tejada throwing a disco bassline into the mix while Plaid’s remix of ‘Moving 909s’ is the sort of shiny broken-beat electronics number that the group have done so well for so long.
