Camisole Records reissue a lost work of Japanese experimental avant-garde for the very first time since its 1981 release. Fittingly, the identity of composer Yoran is as cryptic as the content of Montparnasse; piano recital music flits in and out of earshot, just as snippets of obscure French dialogue fails to allow for any concrete context. This is brilliantly dream-like, a simulation of wandering like a flaneur down streets long past.
