Al Wootton seems to be enjoying himself at the moment. All of the records that The Artist Formerly Known As Deadboy has recently released through TRULE under his given name have combined playful dub sonics with the kind of tough, soundsystem-ready beats we’ve heard coming out of Bristolian labels Hotline and Livity Sound in the past few years. The trend continues on new EP Operator, a set which veers between ragga-techno hybrids (‘Levi’) and stomping tech-house (‘Operator’).
