Angel’s second full-length for Editions Mego (Marcus Schmickler, Hecker) finds the duo serving up some of their most dynamic work yet. Hedonism’s ten tracks veer between droning feedback, alien synth tones and tinnitus-aping high-pitched whines. The album climaxes with the monolithic ‘Mirrorworld’, a twenty-minute epic whose screech and swell is something Sunn O))) would be proud of. There are also moments of quietness here, mind - see the faint buzzing of ‘Hornet’.
