Squarepusher’s 2009 release ‘Numbers Lucent’ almost worked as an annex to the ‘Just A Souvenir’ LP, containing a more heads-on approach culminating to give maximum impact. Coming as six tracks, here Jenkinson ditches the softer jazz touches for a return to a rawer, drum & bass focused sound. “Zounds Perspex” has a certain dancefloor feel to it due to vintage, Chicago style percussion and 90’s rave touches whilst “Arterial Fantasy” is an angry, scattergun of jungle breaks and stomping gabba kicks.
