Originally released in 1982, Nuts & Co.’s Kangourou is a strange, outre take on the minimal synth and fourth-world styles that were so popular at the time. The electronic backbones of these tracks are generally gentle and swaying in a manner that prefigures the emergence of Balearic house. Atop these we get strange, Dadaist singing and spoken-word passages that give everything a sense of hazy surreality. Think Jon Hassell dabbling with Lydia Lunch.
