Be it rooted in field recording, ambient or modern classical, it makes perfect sense that the densely cinematic and texturally deep work of Polish composer Michel Jacaszek was a mere stone’s throw away from scoring film. He’s even won awards in the category. Naturally, Music For Film is a seamless amalgamation of Jacaszek’s twin identities as a solo musician and score composer, blending his tender work for the likes of 2008’s Golgota wroclawska and 2011’s Suicide Room into a continuous mix alongside short film and documentary work. It’s fitting to call this an LP in its own right.
