Clockdust is a set of beguiling and beautiful twilight-pop from Rustin Man (Paul Webb). These tunes have a lovely air of oddball charm about them, their tin-pan-alley instrumentals providing a good foil for Rustin Man’s postmodern operetta singing style. As such, a whole lineage of eccentrics is evoked when listening to Clockdust - everyone from Pram to Kurt Weill. At somewhat more conventional moments like ‘Love Turns Her On’ we also get whiffs of Half Man Half Biscuit and Richard Hawley.
