London-based DJ and producer Dan Shake makes a release worthy of his name with Mosquito, out on his own label namesake. Shake takes his studiously unique house sensibilities to the limit across this EP’s title track and ‘Hide and Seek’, matching a crevasse-deep bass buzz with the unlikeliest of piano-driven grooves. Perhaps it shouldn’t work, but it irrefutably and unequivocally does.
