Newly-minted label Bore Hole Records will be one to keep an eye on for fans of the scuzzier end of techno. The label’s first release, Rites Of Passage’s Untitled EP, is a low-key, lo-fi affair. A lot of these moth-eaten beats come off like an old Nitzer Ebb cassette that someone has unearthed in the attic. There are also some more cerebral pulses - ‘Cardo’, ‘Inhale’ - and the glitchy drone of closer ‘Dasein’. Fans of Beau Wanzer and Ron Morelli are advised to check Rites Of Passage.
