VTSS and Bjarki on the same release? Don’t mind if we do. HELLCAT Records is a new offshoot of Bjarki’s anarchic IDM/techno/hard dance imprint bbbbbb, and there’s certainly some of the parent label’s zaniness to the split EP Chanting From A Tiny Book. Indeed, the two artists seem to meet in the middle here, with Bjarki streamlining his sound into Randomer/Clouds-style hard techno while VTSS’s ‘Batman Church’ and ‘How To Win Big’ are a little more playful than some of the darker, more Gothic fare she’s presented previously. Great fun.
