Parisian group Maât deliver a delightful LP of dubwise house, downtempo electronics and fourth-world vignettes in the form of Solar Mantra. The more energetic tunes here steer close to that same kind of warm, jazz-tinged deep house we find offered up by labels like Smallville and Church. Other tracks - ‘Mount Beuvray’, for instance - zoom out to create more impressionistic soundscapes which nod to RAMZi, Khotin and Príncipe’s Niagara. Solar Mantra is a record as warm and welcoming as its title suggests.
