Bleep

Strange, sombre and at times unsettling music from French-Canadian producer Racine on Quelque Chose Tombe, her debut LP released here by Danse Noire. These tracks hover on the border of electronic composition, computer music and concrete/avant-garde experiments, while everything is shot through with the same greyscale air. It makes for potent and oddly beautiful work that recalls by turns Holly Herndon, The Caretaker, Shapednoise and Danse Noire boss Aïsha Devi.
