The person/people behind Itinerant Dubs remain(s) a mystery, but the music remains able to speak for its. The project’s new EP Itinerant Dub 006 has apparently been in storage since 2016 - good thing that these two tunes still sound fresh as a daisy, then. ‘Dubplate 1’ intersperses a stomping dub riddim with a wiggling bassline derived from acid house. The final result reminds one of a soundsystem rendering of Afrikan Sciences. The way that ‘Dubplate 2’s murky digi-dub suddenly shifts gear from half- to double-time will surely up the energy of any dance.
