It’s difficult to sound unique within experimental free jazz, but mammoth musical collective Urs Graf Consort achieve the kind of singular sound and aesthetic that truly sets them apart. Uva Ursi, out on fittingly strange London label bison, is one of those rare things; music that sounds like total resignation to chaos. Language flit back and forth — Spanish, French, Italian — across harpsichords, horns, guitars, and a host of esoteric percussion.
