The list of labels that 214 has released records through reads like a ‘who’s who’ of modern electro - Frustrated Funk, Central Processing Unit, Shipwrec, Touchin’ Bass, and now Cultivated Electronics, who host 214’s Si View EP. Much of this EP finds 214 delivering squelchy man-machine electro grooves which nestle between classic Drexciyan modes and the nastier pulse of labels like Don’t and Super Rhythm Trax. ‘Earthworms’ develops that style further, throwing in some breaks and jacks which intimate ghettotech.
