Cong Burn’s latest various artists EP is another fine set of contemporary UK club joints from the Salford label’s nearest and dearest. Lack and Perfume Advert both contribute hybridized tracks which will slot in nicely alongside releases from Timedance and Livity Sound in any DJ set. Chekov pushes this style further, combining it with the sort of zippy sine-wave leads we find in Murlo’s work on ‘Fold (F Mix)’. Label debutant Tonto completes the Cong Burn 06 lineup with the highly dubwise ‘Rust’, an atmospheric highlight of an excellent EP.
