White Heaven’s Out is one of those records that’s something of a holy grail among psych-rock fans. Released on a limited run on a Tokyo label 1991, the LP is a set of woozy, wistful and gorgeous rock songs that touch on the same brand of moon-eyed melancholy as certain parts of Lou Reed and Tom Verlaine. The way in which the guitar coos softly on tracks like ‘Fallin’ Stars End’ is simply beautiful.
