Multi-instrumentalist record producer Kristian Craig Robinson — aka Capitol K — aligns bucolic pastoralism with analogue proto-rave approaches on mini-album Birdtrapper, the latest in Mediterranean auditory explorations since 2018’s Goatherder. As such, hypnotic tracks like ‘Scarred Land’, ’Morphing Isle’ and ‘Temple’, built from a combination of crispy 808s, wandering woodwinds and implacable synths — almost sounding like a great lost krautrock excursion — defy easy categorisation.
