Honest Jon’s Records unearths a hidden gem in free improv guitarist Derek Bailey’s Company back catalogue. The recording of 1983 circles around a heady week of freewheeling jazz improvisation featuring the likes of Jamie Muir, Even Parker, Peter Brötzmann as Bailey’s esteemed guests. The result is a recording of remarkably controlled chaos as members play off one another; horns parp uncontrollably, guitars twang into the corners of the room, bizarre percussion scramble for space.
