Out once more on the ever-intrepid label of celestial trawlers Astral Industries comes another set of traditional-modern — and ultimately timeless — meditations from The Chi Factory. Born out of the loss of key musical figure and mentor J. Derwort, studious protege Hanyo van Oosterom built the mammoth twin sides of Travel in Peace from Derwort’s remaining worldly possessions, left in his Chi Factory studio: flutes, old guitars and an assortment of esoteric percussion. The resulting album is as moving a work of Neo-New Age as you’re likely to hear; immensely spiritual and measured, brimming with love for a lost friend.
