Master curator Jörg Burger returns to compile a second compilation for legendary electronic and ambient label Kompakt. Velvet Desert Music Vol. 2 boasts an absurd amount of talent — from old vets like The Fantastic Twins and Superpitcher to some fresh new blood in the shape of Golden Bug and The Limiñanas — but what’s significant about this release is its overriding consistency despite its numerous styles. There’s krautrock, minimal ism, 1960s psychedelic rock, but all amounts to one, long, glorious jam.
