Brussels-based producer DC Salas delivers melody-rich tech-house for Eclair Fifi’s fledgling River Rapid label. RR003 contains four joints that are sure to perk up any mix. Anchored by chunky drum programming, cuts like ‘Give Up’ and ‘Sentimental Overdrive’ channel the early days of synthetic dance music to charming effect - Giorgio Moroder would be pleased to have come up with the busy basslines on these tracks. At its most unusual RR003 sounds not dissimilar to the scuffed-up electro of Cardopusher or Boys Noize, particularly when DC Salas puts a little extra grit in the drum sounds - see ‘Lealtad’ on this count.
