Nick and Jordan Smart of folk-jazz troupe Mammal Hands take a hard left turn down minimal electronic avenues with Daemon. Appearing here as Sunda Arc, the duo tread a twilit path across ambiguous landscapes (manmade or human?), melding the acoustic and the digital into a tangled web. Electro swagger abound on ‘Daemon’, while ‘Dawn’ takes a decidedly more techno-minded route before ‘Hymn’ draws proceedings to a coldly minimal end.
