Shabaka Hutchings is surely a prolific artist, but what’s more impressive is that the London jazz lynchpin maintains such high levels of quality throughout his output. We Are Sent Here By History, his latest LP leading his group The Ancestors, sees Hutchings linking up with some of the finest South African jazz talent to create a typically potent set of improvisations.
